$35,000.00 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg
Address: Big Brothers / Big Sisters
Winnipeg, Mb
The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg has donated $35,000.00 to the Big Brothers / Big Sisters program of Winnipeg. This money will be used to fund their entire program for 2006.
Little Sisters and Little Brothers come from all areas of the city and are no different from other children. Many, though not all, come from single parent homes. They all have the same need -- an adult from outside the home to be a friend.
Whether you're young or old, married or single, a professional or a homemaker, you can be a Big Brother or Big Sister. You don't need special training. You don't need a lot of money. All you need are your own personal reasons for wanting to help a child. Maybe you want to make a difference with one child - to show what caring means. You have much to give, and much to share with a child in need of a special friend.

Since the first Canadian Women Build project in 1991, more than 650 Women build houses have been build across North America and in fourteen countries around the world. In 2005, 185 Habitat houses were build across Canada - three of them were Women Build houses - two of which were built in Winnipeg!
Women Build provides and environment in which women can feel comfortable learning skills they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. The Women Build program enables women to take a leadership role in making a tremendous, positive difference in their communities. Women take responsibility for the entire build process, from planning and training to fundraising and media communications, to roofing and dry walling.
The Kinsmen and Kinette Club of Winnipeg have once again sponsored the Habitat for Humanity Women Build for 2006.
