Congratulations to our Winner of the Kin Kar 2005 Raffle draw!

The draw was made on Saturday night, July 2nd 2005 at 11:30pm at the RREX. It was a stormy night, but Larry Vickar of Vickar Chevrolet stuck around to perform the prize draw for us. A big thanks to Vickar Chevrolet for all their assistance with the draw this year.

Thank you to everybody that supported us by buying a ticket. A HUGE thank you to all our volunteers that helped us out during our shows and Red River Exhibition. We will be holding an appreciation BBQ in the very near future for all our volunteers. Please stay tuned for details.

$ 3,000.00 to Camp Manitou - Transportation Costs

The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg has donated $3,000.00 For the transportation needs of Camp Manitou this coming Summer 2005.

This $3000.00 will be used by Camp Manitou to bring children to their Day Camp, as well as transportation home from the camp.

The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg is one of the founders, as well as one of the ongoing supporters of Camp Manitou.

Camp Manitou is a non profit organization dedicated to help give a camping experience to children whose families may not be able send their children to camp for various reasons.

Kin Kar Raffle at the Red River Ex!

The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg will be running the Kin Kar Raffle again at the Red River Exhibition from June 23rd to July 2nd 2005!

The ticket prices are $2 each, or 4 for $5.

If you are interested in helping us out by volunteering to sell our tickets at the Red River Ex, please call us. You will receive free admission to the amusement park, as well as refreshments while you work. Shifts are 3 hours long, and run during normal RREX hours.

This year's Grand Prize is a choice of one of the following:

Manitoba Marathon June 19th 2005

The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg will be volunteering for the Manitoba Marathon on Sunday Morning, June 19th 2005 at 7:00am. We will be running the water station at Mile 14 at the intersection of Wolseley & Clifton.

We will be filling and handing out water to all the runners that pass by Mile 14 at the Manitoba Marathon.

We'll see you all at the Manitoba Marathon bright and early Sunday morning!

$100,000.00 (MSRP) for Winnipeg Harvest 5-Ton Truck

The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg, using funds from Kinsmen Jackpot Bingo, have purchased a brand new 5-ton truck for Winnipeg Harvest. This truck will be used for the pickup and delivery of large quantities of food throughout Winnipeg.

The truck was purchased from Vickar Community Chevrolet, and will be delivered to Winnipeg Harvest in the next few days. Vickar Community Chevrolet has also aided in offsetting some of the cost of the truck, which can retail for as high as $100,000.00 from many suppliers.

Winnipeg Harvest is a non-profit, community-based organization. It is committed to providing food to people who struggle to feed themselves and their families. It is also committed to maximizing public awareness of hunger while working towards long-term solutions to hunger and poverty.
